TETREAULT  DESIGN

Our Story

RISD Logo.png

Founded in the mid-80s as a consultancy specializing in brand, environmental graphic design, and project management, the studio pioneered the combining of design with the earliest computer-aided design (CAD/DOS) technologies; providing a small three-person studio with the ability to win regional projects such as the Nashville Convention Center, The Nashville International Airport, and the State of Tennessee's Bicentennial Mall.

Early focus was on melding conceptual design with computer automation; all the project components that were data-driven ...component design, cost analysis, design readability studies, value engineering, along with extensive "what if" simulations ...all the quantifiable design and project tasks that were greatly improved by the new budding computing technologies.

As a beta test site for the early Intergraph/Bentley Systems Microstation CAD platform, Tetreault Design was the first brand and design consultancy to leverage the CAD rendering kernel to full advantage for automated script implementation; expanding concept design possibilities while reducing project cost and build time.

Throughout the 90s, Tetreault Design continued to evolve and gained a leadership role by systematically melding creativity and computing technologies in new and meaningful ways; leading to major government, transportation, and healthcare commissions in brand and environmental graphic design, brand development and projection, and project management throughout the Southeast and nation-wide.

Today, the studio remains nimble by choice and focuses on the converging design/brand/cost equation, along with the resulting strategy implementation opportunities and ROI considerations. We focus on challenging information and communication design in the public, healthcare, government, and transportation sectors, providing creative and responsible solutions to organizations throughout North America.

Our commissions include an emphasis on solutions that allow for economical change and expansion.  This is especially critical in today’s healthcare, museum, and transportation sectors where change is a normal component of the business model.

By approaching every commission with all the goals and constraints clearly identified and analyzed, from the onset, this greatly increases our work’s long-term utility and our client's ROI. Our design philosophy remains clear and unwavering …providing our clients with creative, responsible and cost-effective solutions to complex information design problems through close, ongoing collaboration.

Today’s branding and environmental graphic systems must be planned and implemented with growth and change as core benchmarks for success and long-term viability.

"It is simply too costly to invest and then re-invest significant capital into short-term design and branding efforts. Today’s information systems must account for longevity, flexibility, and cost effectiveness.

At its core; in addition to a work's initial cost and implementation (cost, time, effort, resources), maintaining a solution when change and expansion are needed is paramount. Every brand and graphic design solution must address these basic issues."

As Mies van der Rohe once coined, "God is in the details."I look forward to our conversations.
