A few of my favorite mid format images cropped to their bare-bones horizontal limits.

The images were captured using a Phase One XF with a Iq280 digital back (80mp) and a 35mm Schneider-Kreuznach f/3.5 AF leaf shutter lens.

For 22-plus years, we enjoyed having an apartment in the heart of Old Quebec City. We thoroughly enjoyed the city in every season, but especially enjoyed the summer of 2008, Quebec’s 400 year anniversary founding celebration.
These images were composed along the west side of rue Ste. Anne, a small, short commercial street just a block from our rue Des Jardins apartment. The reflective light was magical that August day.

Some of the images were captured using a Phase One XF camera body with a Iq280 digital back (80mp) and a 35mm Schneider-Kreuznach f/3.5 AF leaf shutter lens, others were captured with a Fujifilm XT1 (26mp) and X-Mount Lens/APS-C Format 41mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.8 lens.

A typical sojourn through Italy’s favorite destinations. Unfortunately, we were not in any one city long enough to a: truly enjoy the local experience and b: not long enough to get out of the “tourist snap-shot mode.” But the architecture, color and details help turn average snaps into slightly memorable images.

Captured with a Fujifilm XT1 (26mp) with an X-Mount Lens/APS-C Format XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens and a Fujifilm XT3 (26mp) with an X-Mount Lens/APS-C Format 41mm (35mm Equivalent) f/2.8 lens.

The Emerald Isle keeps calling, and we answer time and time again; four adventures spanning 15 years and still the longing to return is ever present.
While there’s not a shred of Celtic DNA in me, the pull to return is second only to Quebec where we had an apartment (at the heart of Quebec City’s UNESCO World Heritage Site) for 22 years …that’s where the DNA solidifies, as does the spiritual history.
But Ireland; its weathered walls, mood-filled landscapes, and especially its welcoming people call … and we reply. (Where we’ve learned “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.”)
